Cate is a Cultural Empordà Empordà High Profit.
La Cate is a non -profit Empordà cultural entity founded in 1921 that is headquartered in the building of the Catechistics Board, recognized as a Cultural Asset of National Interest by the Generalitat of Catalonia in 2015. The rationalist -style building consists of 5 spaces that are allocated to all types of cultural activities promoted by the different entities, associations and groups of the city of Figueres, which we call the 'cultural nursery' of La Cate.
In 2014, the Catechistics Board was distinguished with the granting of the Figueres Figueres Figuera leaf for merits in terms of spreading culture in the city of Figueres. In September 2015, the building of the Board was awarded by the Docomomo Foundation at the proposal of the College of Architects of Catalonia. Finally, in 2017 we received the ATENEUS 2017 Award, in the Associative Communication.
